Guitar Specialist & Research-Informed Music Educator for International Schools

My education, academic research, and professional experience in music practice and education have developed across different regions and cultural contexts. Together, these experiences have broadened my musical and intellectual perspectives, while also shaping a cosmopolitan outlook and language skills. As a result, I feel naturally drawn towards international schools, which I see as microcosms of the wider world and learning environments where I can contribute both professionally and culturally as a guitar specialist.
In this role, a depth of knowledge in guitar playing and pedagogy allows me to bring a level of expertise often associated with specialised music environments, while musical versatility enables me to respond to students’ demand based on their musical preferences and cultural backgrounds.
Parallel to this, research on cross-cultural learning informs an intercultural perspective on music education, training in the Suzuki Guitar Method supports effective teaching from the earliest stages of musical development, and formal training in music pedagogy underpins a structured and research-led approach well suited to school settings.
Extensive use of English across academic, professional, and intercultural contexts in English-speaking countries – complemented by a TEFL Level 5 Diploma – supports clear communication with students and families. In addition, I am a native Italian speaker and possess conversational fluency in Spanish.
Alongside instrumental teaching, I am interested in contributing to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, which closely aligns with my views on music education – particularly in its emphasis on inquiry, intercultural understanding, and reflective practice.
“Music is not merely sound; it is a way of experiencing the world.” — T. M. Krishna
